Artist Notes:

The Baie Verte salt marsh concealed a secret until 2016. A group of amateur historians discovered the Acadian Causeway beneath its dense vegetation. This causeway was a 15-foot wide, mile-long road between Fort Beausejour and Fort Gaspereaux in the 1700’s. This road was used to move military goods and supplies between the forts. The linear features in this image are all that is left of this incredible piece of history. It is referred to as the French Road.
